A bespoke striped lawn installation for a swimming pool garden in Brentwood, Essex — delivering a freshly mowed look all year round with our premium Supreme 35mm artificial grass.

At Essex Artificial Grass, we were asked by the client to create a bespoke stripe lawn for their family garden. We laid our Supreme 35mm artificial grass to 550mm-wide stripes, recreating the classic freshly mowed appearance that natural lawns can only hold for a day or two — made permanent.

As always, ground preparation was paramount. We excavated a significant volume of material and introduced fresh granite to build a durable, permeable sub-base. After removing soil and clay, a geotextile membrane was laid at soil level to prevent weed growth. Approximately 100mm of MOT Type One was then levelled and compacted, followed by a concrete fixing strip and a hand-screeded 25mm layer of 0–5mm granite dust before the grass was fitted.

The finished product was a beautiful, bespoke stripe lawn that the client was absolutely thrilled with. They loved the way the grass looked and felt underfoot, and were especially impressed by its durability and low maintenance.
