A stunning poolside transformation in Cold Norton, Essex — creating a natural-looking, low-maintenance lawn around a newly installed swimming pool using our Supreme 35mm artificial grass.

At Essex Artificial Grass, we were called in to create a manicured, natural-looking lawn around the client’s newly installed swimming pool. They wanted a surface that would look pristine all summer long, withstand heavy foot traffic in and out of the pool, and require virtually no upkeep. Our Supreme 35mm artificial grass was the perfect solution.

As with every installation we carry out, ground preparation was paramount. The team excavated a significant volume of soil and clay, then introduced fresh granite material to ensure a durable and permeable sub-base. A geotextile membrane was laid at soil level to prevent weed growth, before approximately 100mm of MOT Type One was levelled and compacted. A concrete fixing strip was set, followed by a hand-screeded 25mm layer of 0–5mm granite dust, after which the grass was carefully fitted and finished.

The client was delighted with the result. The finished lawn looks just like real grass, remains comfortable underfoot even when wet, and is perfectly suited to hosting summer parties throughout the season. Browse the project gallery below to see the full transformation.
